The courses in this section meet the requirements for an Associate of Arts degree. The Graduation section in any catalog of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District lists additional Degree/Certificate Requirements.
Applicable Transfer Credit Hours
This Transfer Advising Guide provides 60 college-level hours, of which 54 will transfer and apply, as EDUC 1300 will transfer, but will NOT be applicable to the UTSA business baccalaureate degree in Accounting.
MATH 1324 - Mathematics for Business & Social Sciences (3 SCH), may or may NOT be applicable towards UTSA degree requirements based on component area selection

Students pursuing this degree at UTSA must successfully complete each of the Gateway Courses with a grade of “C” or better in no more than two attempts. A student who is unable to successfully complete these courses within two attempts, including dropping a course with a grade of “W” or taking an equivalent course at another institution (including any colleges of the Alamo Colleges District), will not be allowed to select this major at UTSA.
Field of Study Curriculum for Business

The Business Field of Study Curriculum is for students who are seeking a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a Bachelor of Arts (BA), or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a major in business, including all business specializations.
Students who continue their studies at a four-year college or university will select a major, and possibly a minor. Common areas of study include Accounting, Finance, General Business, Human Resources, Information Systems, Management, Marketing, as well as other business-related studies.

Special College Admission Requirements for the UTSA College of Business
Admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) majors in the College of Business is competitive and based upon academic performance. Students must be TSI complete to qualify as a pre-business student. Qualified pre-business students must complete a series of courses before they can be evaluated for admittance to the College of Business and officially declare a business major. The newly admitted class is decided by the College each semester and is determined by the available enrollment capacity and grades of the application pool. Therefore, admission to the UTSA College of Business is not guaranteed.
To be considered for admission to the College of Business a pre-business student must complete 7 required courses (21 credit hours) of which 5 are business courses with a minimum of C- or better. In the semester that a pre-business student completes the five required business courses (15 hours) at UTSA, he/she will be evaluated for admission to the College of Business. This is known as the 15-hour rule which requires that by the time students complete their 15th business hour at UTSA, they must have taken the required two nonbusiness courses and the required five business courses from List 1. If any of the required business courses have been completed prior to entering UTSA, students must take additional business courses at UTSA from List 2 in order to meet the 15-hour rule. Students who earn 15 business hours without completing List 1 forfeit their chance to be evaluated for admission to the College of Business and they must choose another major outside of business. If any of the required business courses have been completed prior to entering UTSA, students must take additional business courses at UTSA from List 2 below in order to meet the 15-hour rule. Students who begin courses on List 2 before completing List 1 and reach 15 business hours will forfeit their right to be evaluated for admission to the College of Business.
