Applicable Transfer Credit Hours
This Transfer Advising Guide provides 69 college-level hours, of which 66 will transfer and apply as EDUC 1300 will transfer but will NOT be applicable towards the Sam Houston State University baccalaureate degree in Food Science and Nutrition.
Note: Sam Houston State University accepts a maximum of 66 college-level hours in transfer towards a baccalaureate degree. Students must complete the specified number of advanced credits and credits in residence for their degrees.
Note: Sam Houston State University recommends that students take and complete 15-16 SCH per semester.
Note: (Sam Houston State University) Courses in the Food Science and Nutrition major must be taken in a prescribed course sequence. With this transfer guide, students will have 2 years remaining to graduate *starting in fall semester*. If a student transfers in a Spring semester, they cannot start in the program sequence until the next fall. For instance, if a student transfers at SHSU in Fall 2020 semester (with all courses in this transfer guide complete), their soonest graduation will be Spring 2022 based on required course sequencing; If they transfer Spring 2021, their soonest graduation is pushed back to Spring 2023 - there is no way to graduate sooner. Students should be encouraged to transfer to SHSU in FALL SEMESTERS with this major.
Note: Sam Houston State University students must complete BIOL 1322 (FACS 2362) with “C” or better before transferring to SHSU, to ensure they meet pre-requisites to start in course sequence.
Note: Sam Houston State University requires transfer and change of major students to have a minimum GPA of 3.0 prior to declaring FSN as a major and submitting a degree plan.
Note: For the Alamo Colleges District this transfer advising guide is degree complete but NOT core complete.
