Lower Division Requirements at the Alamo Colleges District for an AS degree


The courses in this section meet the requirements for an Associate of Science degree. The Graduation section in any catalog of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District lists additional Degree/Certificate Requirements.

This Transfer Advising Guide provides 74 college-level hours, of which 74 will transfer and apply towards the Angelo State University baccalaureate degree in Agriculture, Animal Science.

Note: Angelo State University does not have a maximum number of college-level transfer hours accepted towards a baccalaureate degree. Students must complete the specified number of advanced credits and credits in residence for their degrees.

Students may still take the following Angelo State University degree required courses:

  • Select 6 SCH of Electives will transfer as ASU Electives

Note: For the Alamo Colleges District this transfer advising guide is core complete and degree complete.

Angelo State University Transfer Scholarship Information


Alamo Colleges District students transferring to Angelo State University with a 2.5 GPA may be eligible for the ASU Distinguished Transfer Scholarship. Students who are admitted to ASU will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

Each College President in the Alamo Colleges District may nominate students for the top-level of ASU Distinguished Transfer Scholarships.   

Finally, Angelo State University will award a scholarship to Alamo Colleges District students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa.

AS Approved Course Requirements

The Associate of Science (AS) is designed to align closely with the first half of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.  Students should follow the pre-major AS to BS Transfer Advising Guide for the major and university selected.  The Transfer Advising Guides are developed in conjunction with the senior institution to which the student plans to transfer.

To be awarded the AS degree at one of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District, students must have 9 hours of AS Approved Course Requirements not included in the 42 hours of Core Curriculum.  Please check with your advisor for assistance.
