Lower Division Requirements at the Alamo Colleges District for an AS degree


The courses in this section meet the requirements for an Associate of Science degree. The Graduation section in any catalog of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District lists additional Degree/Certificate Requirements.

  • §  MATH 2413 - Calculus I (AS Approved Course Requirement) will transfer as MATH 2313 AND MATH 2113 [Texas A&M University - San Antonio Mathematics (20) Core] (grade must be a “C” or better)
  • §  COSC 2336 - Programming Fundamentals III (AS Approved Course Requirement) will transfer as CSCI 2336 (grade must be a “C” or better)

This Transfer Advising Guide provides 71 college-level hours, of which 61 will transfer and apply, as MATH 1414, MATH 2412, 1 SCH MATH 1442 and 1 SCH EDUC 1300 will transfer, but will NOT be applicable towards the Texas A&M University - San Antonio baccalaureate degree in Computer Science.

Note: Texas A&M University - San Antonio does not have a maximum number of college-level transfer hours accepted towards a baccalaureate degree.  Students must complete the specified number of advanced credits and credits in residence for their degrees.

Note: This transfer advising guide is degree complete but NOT core complete and NOT field of study complete (students who elect to take PHYS 2425/2426 will be field of study complete).  Both (90) core requirements will be Texas A&M University - San Antonio satisfied/fulfilled.

Field of Study Curriculum for Computer Science

This Field of Study prepares students with foundational education in Computer Science. The courses instill students with fundamental concepts and provides them with hands-on experience. Students will be able to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for success in the computer industry.

This Field of Study also provides a foundation for transfer into a 4-year computer science program.
