This Transfer Advising Guide provides 65 college-level hours, of which 60 will transfer and apply, as EDUC 1300, 1 SCH of FL 1411 and 1 SCH of FL 1412 will transfer but will NOT be applicable towards the Texas A&M University - Central Texas baccalaureate degree in History, Minor in Secondary Education.
Note: Texas A&M University - Central Texas accepts a maximum of 68 college-level transfer hours towards a baccalaureate degree.

Special Admission Requirements for Texas A&M University - Central Texas -Interdisciplinary Studies
ADMISSIONS STANDARDS FOR THE TEACHER CERTIFICATION PREPARATION PROGRAM
The Educator Preparation Council will only consider applicants who meet the following minimum academic standards:
- Minimum 2.75 GPA overall or in the last 60 hours.
- Minimum 2.75 GPA in degree major and concentration.
- Completion or concurrent enrollment in the following courses:
- 42 semester credit hours (SCH) of general education core requirements in the degree plan.
- PSYC 3303 Educational Psychology or PSYC 2308 Child Psychology or TECA 1354 Child Growth & Development (may be included in 42 SCH core requirements).
- All English requirements in the degree plan.
- All Science requirements in the degree plan.
- MATH 3303 Concepts of Elementary Math I and MATH 3305 Concepts of Elementary Math II (when prescribed in the degree plan).
- EDUC 3320 Professional Development in Learner Centered Schools
- Completion of a minimum of 9 SCH (12 SCH for secondary) in concentration for the degree plan.
- No grade lower than a “C” in the degree major and concentration courses.
- Demonstration of basic skills in reading, written communication, and mathematics by meeting the requirements of the Texas Success Initiative.
- Demonstration of content mastery with a score of 80% on Certify Teacher (EC-6 must score 80% on every subject).
- Successful completion of professional interview measuring knowledge, experience, skills, and aptitude with a combined minimum score of 45.
- Successful completion of ACCUPLACER with an Essay score of 6 or an Essay score of 5 and a Sentence Skills score of 80.
- Evidence of good moral character and the mental, emotional, and physical ability to function effectively in a classroom based on the interview.

Transfer of Credit
Community college courses may not transfer into TAMUCT as upper-division courses (3000-4000 level), even though TAMUCT may have an upper-division course with exactly the same name and description. Community college courses may not be used to fulfill the 45-hour upper-division requirement for graduation at TAMUCT. However, the course may be used as a substitute for an upper-division course with an approved substitution form signed by the chair and dean.

Students are not only able to take advantage of guaranteed tuition plans to control the cost of their education, but A&M-Central Texas’s Bachelor Bonus caps tuition and mandatory fees at 12 semester credit hours. Texas Education Code § 54.014 specifies that resident undergraduate students who initially enrolled fall 1999 and later may be subject to a higher tuition rate for attempting excessive hours at any public institution of higher education while classified as a resident student for tuition purposes. Please note that the requirements regarding the hours used to calculate a student’s eligibility for $1,000 Tuition Rebate vary significantly from the requirements determining excessive hours.
