Applicable Transfer Credit Hours
This Transfer Advising Guide provides 65 college-level hours, of which 60 will transfer and apply as EDUC 1300, 1 SCH of MATH 1442 and 1 SCH of CHEM 1405 will transfer but will NOT be applicable towards the Texas A&M University - Central Texas baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
Note: Texas A&M University - Central Texas accepts a maximum of 68 college-level transfer hours towards a baccalaureate degree.

Special Admissions for Nursing B.S.N. at Texas A&M University - Central Texas
Program Admissions Requirements
- Admission to A&M-Central Texas;
- Have a current unencumbered Texas Registered Nurse’s (RN) license or of a Compact State, or be in the last semester of an Associates of Nursing Degree program;
- Have completed the non-nursing courses for the BSN degree, exception, may have six (6) hours remaining,
- Have earned a grade of “C” or higher in all courses leading to a BSN degree,
- Complete an Application to the Nursing Program form,
- If employed as a registered nurse, have a reference form completed by a supervisor. If not employed, have a clinical faculty member complete the form.
How to Apply for Admissions
- Submit the Application to the Nursing Program.
- Submit a reference form found in the Nursing Handbook. The reference form validates safe and recent practice experience as a registered nurse within the last three years prior to acceptance. Or, submit a form from a nursing faculty member if graduation was in the past year and you have not practiced as a registered nurse. Alternatively, applicants may complete a RN refresher course.
- Submit unofficial transcript(s) for review in applying to the program. Official transcript(s) must be submitted to the university for all courses to be transferred in for credit. Provide official copies of transcript(s) from each previously attended college or university. See the “Official College Transcripts” page for additional details.
- Prior to enrolling in the program meet with faculty advisor in the Department of Nursing to develop a Student Educational Plan, applicants must complete all non-nursing courses listed in the degree requirements. Exception of up to six semester credit hours may be made in consultation with program faculty.
- International applicants and applicants with foreign credentials must adhere to additional requirements.

Transfer of Credit
Community college courses may not transfer into TAMUCT as upper-division courses (3000-4000 level), even though TAMUCT may have an upper-division course with exactly the same name and description. Community college courses may not be used to fulfill the 45-hour upper-division requirement for graduation at TAMUCT. However, the course may be used as a substitute for an upper-division course with an approved substitution form signed by the chair and dean.

Texas Education Code § 54.014 specifies that resident undergraduate students who initially enrolled fall 1999 and later may be subject to a higher tuition rate for attempting excessive hours at any public institution of higher education while classified as a resident student for tuition purposes. Please note that the requirements regarding the hours used to calculate a student’s eligibility for $1,000 Tuition Rebate vary significantly from the requirements determining excessive hours.
