Lower Division Requirements at the Alamo Colleges District for an AAS and an AA degree


The courses in this section meet the requirements for an Associate of Applied Science and an Associate of Arts degree. The Graduation section in any catalog of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District lists additional Degree/Certificate Requirements.

(+) Associate of Arts (AA) - Additional University Degree Requirements


Upon completion of Semester VI, students can earn an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. The coursework below/coursework outside the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree plan are degree required courses for Angelo State University.  Once the student completes the coursework following Semester VI, student will then become eligible to earn an Associate of Arts (AA) degree with the Alamo Colleges District. ALL courses within this transfer advising guide will transfer and apply towards Angelo State University Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree with the exception of those listed in the Applicable Transfer Credit Hours section.

This Transfer Advising Guide provides 90 college-level hours, of which 90 will transfer and apply towards the Angelo State University baccalaureate degree in Applied Arts and Sciences (Criminal Justice).

Note: Angelo State University does not have a maximum number of college-level transfer hours accepted towards a baccalaureate degree.  Students must complete the specified number of advanced credits and credits in residence for their degrees.

Note: Angelo State University will accept 8 SCH of Technical/Vocational credits for this major based on degree requirements.

Note: Angelo State University (ASU) offers students the option to complete the remaining ASU degree required courses via face-to-face format or 100% online for the BAAS in Criminal Justice.

Angelo State University Transfer Scholarship Information


Alamo Colleges District students transferring to Angelo State University with a 2.5 GPA may be eligible for the ASU Distinguished Transfer Scholarship. Students who are admitted to ASU will automatically be considered for the scholarship.

A milestone course is a course that is critical for success in this program as determined by the Faculty of the Alamo Colleges District.

Alamo Colleges District Graduation Requirements


Graduation requirements apply to certificates, reverse transfers, associate degrees, associate of applied science degrees, advanced technical certificates and enhanced skills certificates.  A student may earn a total of one AA, one AAT, and one AS degree from the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District.  In order to be eligible for multiple degrees, at least fifteen hours for any additional degree must be unique to that degree and not part of any degrees previously earned from the colleges of the Alamo Colleges District.  If the student qualifies for a degree from more than one college of the Alamo Colleges District, the degree will be awarded by the home college.  Students may earn multiple distinct certificates and AAS degrees from the college(s) offering the awards.
