The Alamo Colleges District (ACD) has provided an advising guide to offer students a seamless pathway to earn both a two-year degree and a four-year degree at Northwest Vista College (NVC).
Students earning an approved Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree will be prepared to pursue Northwest Vista College’s Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cloud Computing. See information in Year 1 and Year 2 section.
The Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cloud Computing prepares students for a myriad of mid- and entry-level roles in Cloud Computing Environments. Students will be versed in areas such as open-source technologies, scripting languages, regulatory compliance, multi-cloud environments, serverless computing, Internet of Things (IoT), load balancing, inter and intra-region data transfers, systems engineering, and software development. Students will learn how to design, plan, and manage cloud infrastructure. Also, students will be familiar with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), orchestration and automation of work in the cloud, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies on a cloud platform.

For additional information regarding stackable credentials that align with an approved Associate of Applied Science degree with one of the Alamo Colleges that lead into the Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cloud Computing with Northwest Vista College, students should consult with their assigned Certified Advisor for additional information.
Year 1 and Year 2

NOTE: Prospective students are required to complete an IT-based Associate of Applied Science (AAS) program consisting of 60 hours as a prerequisite. Subsequently, students will be required to complete the Core curriculum and an additional 30 hours of upper-division technical credits to fulfill the degree.
NOTE: Students who have completed courses outside of Colleges within the Alamo Colleges District can have the transcripts reviewed for credit transfer into the BAT.

The courses in this section meet the requirements for an Bachelor of Applied Technology degree. The Graduation section in any catalog of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District lists additional Degree/Certificate Requirements. Students should meet with their Certified Advisor to ensure they are registered for the correct courses by semester.
Applicable Credit Hours
This Advising Guide provides 120 college-level hours, of which 120 will apply towards the Northwest Vista College applied technology baccalaureate degree in Cloud Computing.
Note: Students who earn one of the approved Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees excluding NVC Network & Cloud Architecture, AAS will need to work with their Certified Advisor to ensure that their degree audit exceptions and requirements are met before applying for graduation.

AlamoPROMISE
AlamoPROMISE covers tuition and required fees for current academic year graduates from participating high schools seeking an academic certificate or associate degree at one of the five Alamo Colleges: Northeast Lakeview College, Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, San Antonio College, and St. Philip’s College.
As AlamoPROMISE Scholars, students meeting eligibility criteria receive a “last-dollar” scholarship for up to three years or the completion of an associate degree or academic certificate, whichever comes first. The “last-dollar” scholarship funds the cost of tuition and required fees after financial aid awards are applied.
