The courses in this section meet the requirements for an Associate of Science degree. The Graduation section in any catalog of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District lists additional Degree/Certificate Requirements.
Semester VI
- Select a 4 credit hour course from ASTR or BIOL or COSC or GEOL or PHYS will transfer as ASU Science Course Elective [See Note in “Applicable Transfer Credit Hours” section]
- Select one course from the Additional Language, Philosophy and Culture (90) Core will transfer as ASU Elective
Applicable Transfer Credit Hours
This Transfer Advising Guide provides 72 college-level hours, of which 72 will transfer and apply towards the Angelo State University baccalaureate degree in Biology.
Note: Angelo State University does not have a maximum number of college-level transfer hours accepted towards a baccalaureate degree. Students must complete the specified number of advanced credits and credits in residence for their degrees.
Note: ACD Math Faculty Highly Recommend MATH 1414 for all Pre-Calculus (STEM) Track Programs.
Students may still take the following Angelo State University degree required courses:

Note: Many graduate programs and health professions schools require two semesters of Physics 1301/1101 and 1302/1102. Be advised that Angelo State University Science Course Elective options may be used to meet this requirement.

The Associate of Science (AS) is designed to align closely with the first half of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Students should follow the pre-major AS to BS Transfer Advising Guide for the major and university selected. The Transfer Advising Guides are developed in conjunction with the senior institution to which the student plans to transfer.
To be awarded the AS degree at one of the colleges in the Alamo Colleges District, students must have 9 hours of AS Approved Course Requirements not included in the 42 hours of Core Curriculum. Please check with your advisor for assistance.
